Presenting “Trojan Santa Claus” USA Circa 1887 from the Memories of Santa collection.
Each ornament from the Memories of Santa Collection was inspired by antique chocolate molds, early chromolithographs, and turn-of-the-century post cards. Introduced by artist Don Warning in 1983, each figure depicts a Santa from a particular country and time period.
This robust Santa with black fur was inspired by an early advertising trade card distributed by the Troy Bazaar of Troy, New York.
Item is in wonderful condition, but you’ll notice the date isn’t clear on the 7. It looks like it was manufactured this way, but I wanted to point it out. Also, there are no Memories of Santa papers included. Box shows minimal wear, but the ornament is good. Please see photos for details.
