Mexican Gorda or Gordita Clay Pottery woman holding a bowl or tray of flowers. She is tan with long braids. The are orange and the bowl is brown.
There are several different names for this type of pottery, including Mexican Folk Art, Clay Folk Art, Folk Art, Mexican Clay Folk Art and others. This lady was in the estate of a woman who collected Mexican folk art pottery figures of all kinds.
According to references I found, a Gordita is a Mexican fat girl, and a Gorda is a Mexican fat woman. She is approximately 5 1/2" tall,
5” wide and 5” deep.
I wrap all breakables in bubble wrap and double box them to protect from breakage during shipment. Double boxing and sufficient packing materials make the package weigh more, but I don't want this item to be broken during shipment. I use recycled materials when I have them.
