Other: Oberhammergau has been the home of the Passion Play since 1634. The 1922 production included Lang Anton as Christ, Veit Marta as Mary, Lang Andreas as St. Peter, Breitsamter Melchior as St. John, Mayr Guido as Judas, Klucker Benedikt as Philippus, Dedler Matthias as Thaddeus, Hohenleitner Martio as Simon, Albrecht Josef as St James maj., Bierling Andreas as St James min., Mayr Anton as St. Thomas, Schmid Alois as St. Andrew, Lang Andreas as St. Matthew, Lang Eduard as St. Bartholomew, and many more. Director of music was Wittmann Ludwig, with Lang Johann and Mayr Hans were “leaders of the play.” This image shows Jesus farewell at Bethany.

Frederick Bruckmann was the founder of the art publishing firm of F. Bruckmann in Frankfort in 1858, moving to Munich in 1863. Bruckmann’s background in the classical and fine arts placed him perfectly for publishing reproductions from the history of art as well as contemporary expressions. He embraced the most up-to-date photomechanical printing processes including the Woodburytype, gravure, rotogravure and collotype.
