Unique hand-carved blackened wood sculpture of a beautiful female islander head, in silhouette, wearing a "tutti frutti" fruit basket hat. Family folklore suggests it was brought home in the 1940s from the Pacific Islands during WW2. Beautifully crafted, highlighting the culture and artistry of the area. The tutti frutti hats date back to the late 1800s and were made popular by Brazilian Carmen Miranda.
Acquired from a Louisville KY estate, measuring appx 9"t x 5"w x 1.5"d. Perfect for any folk art collection, tiki bar, and a great addition to a wall gallery or blank wall space in need of a pick me up.
