Phil Edwards Moving Filister Plane, Excellent And Little Used.

Phil Edwards of Philly Planes of a contemporary UK based plane maker. This moving filister plane is in nearly new shape. European beech body, with boxwood boxing. Equipped with nice brass hardware depth stop, a sharp nicker and a nice skew blade.. and the characteristic adjustable fence to allow you to make rabbets of variable widths and depths.

It is stamped PJE on the front and 108 on the back. As I understand it, he currently takes orders a few months out. This one\'s a beauty! Happy to share more pictures.

Our Moving Fillister is the perfect plane for cutting rebates. It features a skewed iron, adjustable brass depth stop, nicker iron (for clean cross-grain cuts) and movable fence to allow you to cut a wide variety of size of rebate with or across the grain without tear-out. The plane is inset with Box wood on its cutting edge for increased wear resistance.
