As the clouds begin to break, the lush Englishcountryside can be seen below as a formation of RAF Spitfires from
66 Squadroncomplete a long range fighter patrol during the summer of 1940.

THE SIGNATURE

This atmospheric piece by world renowned artist Gerald Coulson was published in 1992 originally signed only by the artist. We’ve had a few copies in our UK Gallery for some years which we have had countersigned at one of our events by a famous RAF Spitfire Ace:

Squadron LeaderALLAN SCOTTDFM
he joined the RAF in March 1941 and after completingpilot training was posted to 124 Sqn at Biggin Hill to fly Spitfires. AboardHMSEaglehe then went to Malta to serve with 603 Sqn and later 1435Sqn from the island, again on Spitfires. He saw considerable action during theOctober ‘Blitz’ and through this heavy fighting with Bf109s and Ju88s wascredited with at least 5 victories and 2 probables. Returning to the UK hespent time as an Instructor before serving with 122 Sqn on P-51 Mustangs overEurope. His final tally was 6 victories.
