This is a rare antique ambrotype photograph & case produced in the 1850s/1860s. The photograph is a portrait of a man and is housed in a double view angle case, allowing for two different viewing angles. The photograph is an original and is in a 1/6th plate size. The production technique used is ambrotype, which involves a glass plate coated with a silver halide emulsion. I’m thinking the case is made of leather, and the orientation of the image is portrait. This is a unique and valuable collectible for photography enthusiasts.

Condition: Excellent plus original condition. There are some scuff marks on the backside of case. Original spine has a small scratch towards the top. Original class is in good shape. The ambrotype is in excellent condition the mat and preserver have a little bit of age where to them. The black velvet inside front and back cover are in good condition. The class is in great condition and works fine.
