This is a rare autographed 8x10 photo of Brigadier General Herbert D. Vogel, WWII Veteran (Army Distinguished Service Medal and Legion of Merit) and former Chairman of the Tennessee Valley Authority.

Included bio says the following, "BRIG. GEN. HERBERT D. VOGEL has been chairman of the TVA Board of Directors since 1954, when he retired from a 30-year military career with the U.S. Corps of Engineers. Gen. Vogel, a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, has supervised river and harbor projects in many sections of the U. S., and founded the U. S. Waterways Experiment Station. He is a former lieutenant governor of the Panama Canal Zone. During World War II, he served in command and staff posts in the Southwest Pacific, where he was awarded the Legion of Merit and the Distinguised Service Medal. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers and a Director of the Society of American Military Engineers. He holds advanced degrees from the Universities of Michigan and California, and Berlin Technical University."
General Vogel was born in Chelsea, Michigan in 1900 and passed away in 1984.
