This is a rare autographed 5\" x 6\" photo of Paul C. Fine of the Atomic Energy Commission.
This autographed photo also comes with a 1963 signed letter from Mr. Fine on U.S. Atomic Energy Commission letterhead, as well as a 1957 press release announcing his appointment to the Atomic Energy Commission. Therefore, this item actually includes two Paul C. Fine autographs.

\"DR. PAUL C. FINE APPOINTED DIRECTOR OF AEC OFFICE OF OPERATIONS ANALYSIS AND PLANNING
The appointment of Dr. Paul C. Fine as Director of the Atomic Energy Commission\'s Office of Operations Analysis and Planning was announced by General Manager, K. E. Fields. A part of the staff of the General Manager, this office is responsible for engineering and economic analysis of major technical programs and for coordinating long-range plans.
Dr. Fine joined the Atomic Energy Commission staff in 1947, serving from 1948 - 1953 as Technical Assistant to the Director of Military Application and from 1953 - 1955 as a Branch Chief in the same division. In 1955 - 1956, Dr. Fine was Assistant to Commissioner John von Neumann.
Prior to his Atomic Energy Commission employment, Dr. Fine was an Instructor of Physics at the Universities of Oregon and Texas, a Technical Aide with the National Defense Research Committee, and a Scientific Adviser to the U.S. Delegation to the United Nations Atomic Energy Commission.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Dr. Fine received his B. A. Degree at the University of Oklahoma adn his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology.\"
Paul Charles Fine was born in Dallas in 1915, but raised in Idabel, Oklahoma. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma around 1935. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 104, and is buried in Idylwood, Virginia.
About the Atomic Energy Commission: the Atomic Energy Commission was established in 1946 under President Harry S. Truman\'s reign. It would be dissolved about 30 years later in 1975. The AEC\'s chair from 1953 to 1958 was Lewis Strauss, portrayed by Robert Downey, Jr in the 2023 film \"Oppenheimer\". Downey, Jr. would win the Oscar for his portrayal of the AEC chair, and \"Oppenheimer\" won Best Picture.Condition:Photo in excellent condition, letter has been folded and creased, press release shows some aging/tanning.
