Sandwich Glass Blown Font Whale Oil Lamp, Scrolled Standard Paw Foot Base,The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, MA., c. 1827 - 1835. This beautiful lamp is a rare and early example with a clear free-blown round lamp font joined to a pressed square triangular scrolled lacy base. The triangular scrolled lacy glass base is one of the earliest and rarest pressed glass bases manufactured at the Sandwich Glass factory. This is missing it\'s burner, as it was electrified, but the condition for such an early and hard to find rarity is very good to excellent, with minor damage and minimal wear.This rare lamp is listed in \"A GUIDE TO SANDWICH GLASS WHALE OIL LAMPS AND ACCESSORIES\" by Barlow and Kaiser, plate # 2025 for the round font and plate # 2026 for the triangular lacy base, where it books for $700!I offer this rare and early lacy scrolled base lamp here with the opening offer the reserve.
