Could this adorable Chickadee Cookie Jar be any cuter? Made in the 1940's by the Shawnee Pottery Company, this is a highly collectible and rare piece of Americana history. What is particularly unique is this sweet chick is beautifully glazed in an off-white color and the old paint is long gone. She works equally well in today's modern kitchen or a retro kitchy home. Other than minor crazing on the inside bottom and rough edges where the bottom and top of the jar meet, she's in great condition. She measures 12" x 7" x 6".

Shawnee Pottery is a well-known American pottery company that operated in Zanesville, Ohio, from 1937 to 1961, with A.E. Hull Jr., son of the owner of The Hull Pottery Company, managing production. Shawnee Pottery became famous for its colorful and whimsical ceramic items, which included a wide range of kitchenware, cookie jars, planters, vases, and figurines.
