A Brief History:
The year was 1.7 Billion B.C. The earth was all gross and dark and angry all the time. Imagine moderate to severe indigestion / acid reflux disease, but on a planetary scale. The earth\'s bowels were full of churning lava, feeling like Carolina Reaper sauce mixed with undercooked chicken or something. But I digress... From the molten magma miles beneath the young earths surface, this liquid rock (igneous) cooled very slowly, giving thewhite and black crystals plenty of time to grow and harden into what we now know as Granodiorite!!! A few years later in 300,000,000 B.C., the earth was cramping up so it stretched a bit. It felt great! And left us with the Ancestral Rocky Mountain range, bringing granodiorite and other ancient minerals to the surface. Fast forward to a few weeks later, the year was 2,500,000 B.C. The first of the ice ages began that aided in the erosion of the Ancestrals into the Rocky Mountains we know today, leaving this beautiful one-of-a-kind specimen for me to discover in 2023!! It was June 6th, or maybe the 7th or 8th. I was hiking in the Boulder Canyon, just west of Boulder, Colorado. In the cool morning light, while eating some beef jerky, I saw a shimmer in the shallow flowing water of the Boulder Creek. Come to think of it, it was the 6th. I remember because I had a dentist appointment later that day. I reached into the cold water and picked the specimen up and rinsed it off. I held it up to the sky, gazing upon its glory in the morning sunlight. Could it be...? Could I really have found...? YES!!! Indeed I had found a completely common, more-than-abundant, rather generic looking piece of Ancient Igneous Granodiorite!!! I was so excited I dropped my beef jerky in the creek! (beef jerky is biodegradable... this is not a conflict stone.) The Boulder Micro-Boulder is completely free range and has only been handled once (probably) by me upon retrieval from it\'s resting place in the Boulder Creek. Since then it has been on a shelf in my office, between a Ken Griffey Jr. rookie card and Spawn \"Violator\" action figure. (Medical grade black nitrile gloves will be worn upon packaging for shipment to prevent further contamination of the specimen from the natural oils found on the human skin).
This extremely vintage one-of-a-kind geological marvel weighs in at a massive 142,000,000 micrograms!!! With a height of 57,150,000 nanometers, and circumference of 139,700,000 nanometers, this specimen is truly amazing!!!
I have had the specimen professionally(ish) appraised by Rick who has assured me it is worth well over $20,000!! Today only (or tomorrow... whenever really...)
