Thisis an excellent, rare find of a very nice, highly collectible, genuine\"MS-XW217-1\" musical bracket or wood parlor clock that was produced about 15 years ago by \"Seiko,\" one of the finest contemporary musical clock makers with a long-standing tradition. This is an excellent mantel or desk clock and made from sturdy Cherry wood with excellent carvings near the scrolled top and more garnished trim on the tall columns on each side; very nice! It has a deep Cherry finish and even has fancy wooden feet in each corner underneath to lend support. There is a clear crystal inset over the front with goldtone trim; no cracks or chips that I can see. The round dial has a brass bezel surrounding it and a deeply embossed, ornate center too. The brand, \"Seiko\" appears in block letters above center and the phrase, \"6 Melodies\" appears just above the 6 o\'clock position in calligraphic print. The chapter ring has a silvertone backdrop featuring large, raised brasstone arabic numerals to mark the hours and fancy, matching, black metal hands to point out the time. The back is wood too and removes easily to allow for adjusting the volume, setting the current time, or turning the clock on or off. There is a demonstration button there as well that allows you to show off the music quality anytime you wish. Both battery boxes are intact; takes just 3 AA batteries to operate. This clock is impressive on its own merit but really comes alive at the top of the hour with music when it plays one of six, longer classic tunes in very high quality includingone of these tunes:Four Seasons, Spring; Morning Mood - Peer Gynt; La Traviata; Symphony #6; Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Kanon; absolutely fascinating! The music titles are also listed inside the clock case.The clock is very impressive and the music is outstanding! It keeps good time too. It also has a nighttime feature that automatically silences the music at night which is nice for light sleepers or when company is in town. The clock shows only average use with a little wear on the inner lower case; not even visible from the outside. It is remarkably breathtaking on display! It is impressive insize too measuring about 14\" at its highest point, about 4 1/2\" atits deepest point, and about 9 1/2\" at its widest point. This is anextraordinary clock and will certainly capture the attention and imaginationof anyone seeing or hearing it in your home, office, or wherever it is that youcare to showcase a rare Seiko musical animated timepiece with a genuine legacybehind it.
