The units for sale are reproductions of the Eveready IGNITOR #6 dry cell introduced in 1937 for radio service and other battery operated devicesby the NationalCarbon Company (NCC). NCC marketed thefirst #6 dry cell in 1896on theColumbia label, and was the solesource of this product for uses in the home, auto industry, and telephone companies in theearly 1900s.

The units are configured to produce 1.5V each with twoD-Cell battery holders (wired in parallel), featuringtop entry access for easy replacement of thebatteries (not included) when necessary.The metal sealed top is potted with epoxy and covered with a thin layer of epoxy. Cell dimensions (6-1/2”H X 2-5/8” Dia.), weight W/D-Cells (2 lbs.), label colors and graphics,screw terminal hardware, simulated zinc canister top edge, and papercap enclosed bottomare consistent in appearance with the original production dry cell.
