Description Offered for sale isan original Victorian era stock trade card with a chromoimage of British stage actress Adelaide Neilson. Lilian Adelaide Neilson (1848-1880) was born Elizabeth Ann Brown to an actress in Leeds, England. Her father was unknown. She lived a life of poverty and menial work until she left home and found work in a theater at 15. She trained as an actress and over several years improved, eventually becoming one of the Victorian eras most beloved actresses.
She died suddenly while riding in Paris of internal bleeding from a rupture.
