The uniform includes a helmet of a traffic police officer, jacket, white shirt, trousers and tie, boots.

Epaulettes on the jacket mean the rank of a police officer - capitan.

Signs on the right side of the chest:

- class of the USSR police - 3rd class;

- a sign of graduation from the technical college.

The GAI (State Automobile Inspectorate) of the USSR was the body responsible for traffic control and enforcement of traffic rules in the Soviet Union. It performed a number of functions similar to those performed by traffic police in other countries.

The traffic police was created to ensure road safety and compliance with traffic rules. Traffic police officers patrolled roads, stopped violators and issued fines. They also participated in the investigation of car accidents and maintaining public order on the roads.

It should be noted that after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the formation of independent states in 1991, many of them created their own bodies, similar to the traffic police, responsible for traffic regulation and road safety.
