This tray of the Ural style of national crafts from Tagil city.The tray manufacture in Tagil arose more than 250 years ago. Russian painting on tray was born in the Urals, in Tagil about 1746. In the 20th century painting feature of trays remains. Characteristic of Tagil tray painting is "double brushstroke", when the brush takes two colors of paint at the same time. That gives special volume to a flower petal or a leaf. This method makes Tagil tray painting as distinctive artistic phenomenon.This is a truly beautiful and highly decorative item
This was artfully hand-painted with rowan berries and foliage
The stamp on a back shows that this tray fromthe Soviet period around 70-90 years
Approx. 18'' x 12 1/2''
The tray is very nice, but there is some light scratches and flaws
Condition in front almost perfect
On the back there is some minor damage of the lacquer layer
