Medal grouping of Master Sergeant Louis Albert Farrant, 28th Division, WW1. The grouping has a lot of information associated with the history of the original owner, who was an Italian immigrant and fought in WW1 as part of the Pennsylvania National Guard 28th "Keystone" Division that enlisted at Chester, Pennsylvania. Lou Farrant had a driver's license, so he drove the firetruck for the Hanley Fire Department of Chester, PA in the 1920s and was also Governor Sproul's personal chauffeur, who lived nearby Chester. Lou worked at the Chester Brewery and later opened at the 3rd Street Bar & Grille in Chester. He was Commander of the Italian American Veterans of WWI, a subsidiary of the American Legion. All of the medals and badges are mounted in a shadowbox with information taped to the backside. Here is what the grouping consists of:
