This is an interesting and very rare original WW2 Italian office's field cap. This cap was owned by a member of the 52nd Infantry, mechanized, This was one of three units that formed the first Italian units that joined the Germans in the war in the east, serving in both the Ukraine and Russia. These were the Italian expiditionary force.These three first units served well, and later were joined by several other ltalian units. This cap was there, as it does show some wear and fadeing, as would be expected, Cap has the embroidered rank star on the side, and a wire embroidered crossed rifles on the front, with a crown above. In the center of the insignia is a small black circle with very small numbers. These are the number 52 for the 52nd Infantry. 100% original, and totally untouched, just as it came out of the woodwork.
