This scrapbook is a unique piece of history from the WWII homefront. It includes letters, Christmas cards, Easter cards, and birthday cards, all of which give a glimpse into the life of a military family. The scrapbook itself is in poor condition, but is an original item from the United States during the period of 1944-1945. The pages are filled with personal messages and touching sentiments that offer a window into the experiences of families during this time of conflict. The scrapbook covers the vets training, then marriage, and sadly, divorce after he returned from overseas (had received a bronze star for heroic action in battle).
The scrapbook cover is in well used condition, and all of the used pages have come loose from the scrapbook. The scrapbook pages are very brittle and are damaged. Some of the contents have come loose or they were never attached to pages. There are several unused pages that are still intact in the scrapbook. Also, some of the envelopes are missing the contents.
