I am selling 2 authentic, original, WWII Ernie Pyle items. The first is an original 1944 paperback copy of Ernie Pyle’s “Here is your War” book. The second item is an extremely rare, original, 1945 program booklet for the United Artists film “Story Of G. I. Joe” which starred Burgess Meredith as war reporter/correspondent Ernie Pyle. It also starred Robert Mitchum. This movie was based on the “Here Is Your War” book by Ernie Pyle. This was the program handed out at the movie theaters when this film was showing in 1945. This piece is a true treasure. There are not many of them around. So you will get the 1944 book and then the 1945 program from the movie. They are both in good, used, condition for their almost 80 years of age. They have normal wear from use/age. Please see and enlarge all photos for the exact condition of the items before purchasing. These will still display nicely in any collection. These were a recent estate sale find. Ernie Pyle was a beloved journalist who became the most famous war reporter/correspondent that reported from the battlefields. He reported about, and wrote stories about the soldiers he was with. He won the Pulitzer Prize in 1944. Sadly, he died doing what he loved when he was killed by enemy fire at Okinawa in 1945. I am selling them together today for $19.95 (plus shipping).
