ZBS ZELEZNY BROD SKLO ART GLASS BOHEMIAN CZECH REPUBLIC VASE ASHTRAY AMBER & CITRINE OWL
DESCRIPTIONA stunning large and very heavy (over 4 Lbs) Czech organic glass vase, made in amber + yellow/citrine glass, with an engraved image of an Owl on a Branch with stars in the sky. Made by the Zelezny Brod glassworks, also known as Železnobrodské Sklo (ZBS), and probably designed by Miloslav Klinger or Josef Cvrček, who both designed items from this range. A vase from this range is shown in the book \"Hi Sklo Lo Sklo\" by Mark Hill, page 47.
HISTORYThe Zelezny Brod glassworks, also known as Železnobrodské Sklo (ZBS), was created in 1948 as a result of nationalisation. At this time it was made up of nine glass factories in the town of Zelezny Brod, Czechoslovakia. ZBS is probably best known for it\'s popular free-formed organic vases and bowls, designed by Miloslav Klinger and others, during the 1950\'s - 80\'s.
SIZEMeasures approx 6 inches tall by 7.25 inches in diameter at widest point.
