For sale is one non-dug, two-piece, coat-size (23 mm) Civil War Connecticut state volunteers button (Albert\'s CT13A).
Tice writes that \"enlisted men used these buttons extensively during the Civil War\" and that these \"were probably first made for the active militia during the 1850s.\"
With the depressed-mark \". SCOVILL MF\'G CO, . / WATERBURY.\" backmark, this button is specifically listed as Tice\'s CT205A13. Tice pictures this backmark on page 35 (Plate B-8/18) where he dates it c.1860.
This example is in very good to excellent condition as shown with no pushes, some dirt and evidence of wear and a straight shank.
