EXCELLENT vintage condition - Absolutely beautiful.
The repousse' metalwork is marked "950" purity (see photo).
Depicts "The Annunciation" when the Angel Gabriel announces to Mary that she will be with child as is written in Luke 1:26-38.
Notice the beautiful details of the Archangel Gabriel as he stands on clouds holding a lily as the Holy Sprit Dove shines rays of light on the halo of the Blessed Virgin Mary who is soon to to the Mother of God.Wonderful depth & dimension to this piece.
The black frame is real wood.
Hanging loop is of leather & nailed to the back of the icon for hanging - won't show if for easel display.
Approx measurements : 4" high x 3.5" wide x .75" depth.
Greek to English translations are to the best of my knowledge.
