950 Silver Compact W/Mirror Engraved "Elizabeth" Blue Velvet Case 1940 WWII Era:

This compact was left to me by my dear friend who died in 2017, at the age of 91. It is a beautiful 950 Sterling Silver compact which was never used. There is a love story built around this piece. Provenance will be provided at buyer's request.
The intricate designs on the top and bottom, as well as the sentiment are hand engraved on this beautiful 950 silver. The compact is 3 ". Both the closure and hinge of the piece are intact.
The powder applicator and sifter are hand-sewn. The piece is marked Sterling 950. The beveled mirror is in perfect condition.
The eternal message of love engraved on the compact: "To Elizabeth, more than yesterday, less than tomorrow."
The blue velvet case is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 1". The locking mechanism and hinge of the case are in intact. The velvet is in wonderful condition, especially when one considers the age. The lining is an ivory color. The inside hinge cover and lining are intact as well.
I have not cleaned or polished this compact. This will be up to the buyer.
